The Game (OOC)

The topic title creates uber lolz.

Preliminary planning stages, so it's kinda vague. Seriously, I only came up with the idea about a minute before I started to write up the topic.

Basic premise:

You are a brand new Player, forced to play what is simply known as The Game. You have no memory of how you came to be a Player, only that you are one, and you have to play to survive.

Everyone starts out with the same basic stats. As you progress through the levels, you earn credits to unlock power-ups that give you special abilities, as well as points to increase your basic physical skills. Power-ups are also located throughout The Game's levels, which can vary between short duration boosts or permanent new abilities. Obviously, the better power-ups are harder to find, or just more dangerous to get to.

More details pertaining to the world of The Game will be revealed within the RP itself. The first part of it will be a Tutorial level. (Gotta follow gaming basics right?)

I'd like to think this will be a mix of free-form and system. The power-ups and skills you can upgrade by getting the required credits, but what you do with them within the levels is entirely up to you. As long as it falls within the suitable range of usage. (i.e. you're not gonna be able to throw around buildings with Telekinesis Rank 1)

Any feedback you have to offer is appreciated, I'm hoping this turns out pretty well for my first (...actually second) attempt at GMing. The concept is pretty cool to me anyway.

I don't know what reality you'll be forming around but this guy feels like a computer expert or a hacker (The Game made me think of Matrix). He'd make a good (rules) lawyer, or banker, or some other such employee. Pulled out from his important duties and thrown into the havoc that is The Game.

Err....actually, I wanted to use the most common name ever. It is however a very common surname to be called Smith, nope? XD But no, I do not agree on them being brothers. Just the same name.

I based it off Garrus, but made it a normal name, therefore Garet. If I was gonna steal a name from Golden Sun I'd be Ivan.
